Check this site theres good tutorials on making daft punk bass lines.
What Ill say is use sidechain compression on just about everything as they do, Not just the basssline

Yeah, thanks Ive already seen that. What Im after is what type of synthesis/what kind of wave/filter is used to make the type of bass sound used in voyager. (this sound appears a bit in other dp works as well)

Im new to synthesis (tired of just randomly trying presets) and am hoping someone can give me a leg-up on where to start.

thanks

Have you looked at the other threads on here as there are a few good bass synthesis techniques that might help, not sure if relevant im too lazy to look right now

Hey no sweat, thanks for responding anyhow. If you do get a chance to help me that'd be great (just jump to about 1:00, it doesnt come in right away). I think its really a simple thing, its not a complex sound, but Im just lost as to where to start.

Hi there, you will find similar basslines like this in Cakewalk Dimension Pro, in the Electronica Section.

Hope this helps

Hi There,

This actually sounds like a real bass guitar.

Trilogy by spectrasonics will give you this sound in a heart beat.

Using synthesis to mimick real bass guitars is quite challenging, especially for someone who is new too synthesis, but if you need any assistance with synthesis let me kow and i could point you in the direction of some great resources.

thanks

Mark
