Here is a snippet from a correspondence with Earsmack. Hopefully this will give you all some clues as to what is coming in the final version as well as clear up some confusion about the UI.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for the testing out the software. You also have some really good ideas for the editor:
1)
Make it so each color has an example in the UI - some are hard to tell what's what without loading the skin, etc.
This is a on the todo list. The goal for the editor is to have a graphical representation of each skin element. However, this takes a long time. It is hard to find which elements correspond to which part of the GUI. In a short while, I will post a list of the elements that still need to be mapped. Any help would be greatly appreciated
2)
Make an easy "copy to Live" mechanism to load the skin while still editing.
The way that I test my skins is this: Save the skin in using the Skin Editor. While Live in open, switch to another skin then switch to the skin you want to test. This usually only takes a couple seconds.
3)
More importantly...make it so the preview image is not scaled...it looks all messed up on the Mac anyway. Like it's scaled to 97% or something.
Hehe, I agree that the editor's GUI lacks the beauty of Ableton's interface. Unfortunately, there isn't much that I can do about it. Ableton's interface is drawn using mostly vector graphics. That is why the Live's interface looks smoother and refreshes faster than the editor's interface. The editor uses several composited raster images to reproduce the interface. Because of this method, there are going to be some inevitable jaggies.
Thanks for the feedback and ideas.

Hi Kurmiic,
Unfortunately, that is beyond my abilities. But, I hope you have fun with the editor.
