Plugins Tutorials

Plugins are used to add features to an audio application. There are two types:
  1. Instruments - Generate new audio
  2. Effects - Manipulate existing audio

There are many types of plugins. Sometimes they are built into music software and other times they are installed afterwards. VST plugins are the most popular type of plugins.

Free VST Spectral Analysis for OS X & PC

VST, Plugin, Free, Mixing, Frequency, Spectral Analysis. It is often extremely useful to see the frequency spectrum of your individual tracks and your final song. For example, you may want to see if your bass is dipping into the same frequencies as your kick drum. Unless you have perfect audio monitoring equipment and perfect ears, you will need some help to make sure you don’t have overlapping frequencies. There is a free plug-in from Roger Nichols called Inspector that allows you to see the frequencies used by an audio signal. This tool, in combination with a filter or EQ plug-in, allows you to visually sculpt your instrument’s frequencies. In other words, this can help you spot problems with your mixes and improve clarity. Every electronic music producer should have this plug-in in their sonic arsenal.

More Orange Vocoder Tips

Really, i am a lot thankful to you for the tutorial you wrote about
vocoder! Now it works very fine for me!
I do admire ppl that believes knowledge should be passed ahead to others.

There is only one remaining issue for me: the raw vocal. Like, if i am
singing a C, but playing a Bm, than i’ll have some very tense chord,
right? =]
Is there a way to avoid listening to the raw vocal?

What people are saying about DrumStack:

I just wanted to take a second to say thank you! I love your drumstack device, samples, and tutorial.

I’m a progressive house dj/producer from boston ma usa, (lucky enough to have some of my latest work charted on Balance, release, monthly promos)… and with the genre associated its always a task to get that nice deep thick kick and drum sounds. Your drumstack is by far the best and most user friendly instrument I have used or tested to achieve this.

Great work and again Thank you!
